Anshul Kamboj’s 8/69 Leads India C to Top Duleep Trophy Standings

After one inning, India C led India B in the Duleep Trophy standings because of pacer Anshul Kamboj’s record-breaking eight-wicket haul. India B was bowled out for 332 runs in 108 overs after starting the match at 309/7, with Kamboj taking two wickets in the same amount of time as the previous day. No one was able to defeat Captain Abhimanyu Easwaran in 157.

After posting 525 in the opening inning, India C finished their second inning at 128/4, with 62 runs scored by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. India B scored one point and India C scored three as a result of the agreed-upon draw, giving India C a nine-point total from two games.

Only three times in the history of the Duleep Trophy has a pacer taken eight wickets or more in a single innings. Kamboj, who participated in the Indian Premier League this year with the Mumbai Indians, took five wickets for the first time in his fifteenth first-class match and was voted the match’s most valuable player.

When Ishan Kishan returned to red-ball cricket, he also made an impression, smacking 111 runs off 126 balls.
