Singapore and Norway are set to bring the maritime industry together in November as the Singapore-Norway Innovation Conference returns for its seventh edition. The conference will be held at Amara Singapore on November 4, with more than 200 participants expected.
This year’s theme, “From Seabed to Space: Governing Tomorrow’s Oceans”, reflects the growing role of technology in the maritime sector. Discussions will look at how artificial intelligence, autonomous systems and satellite connectivity are changing ocean operations. Maritime cybersecurity and remote operations will also be among the key topics.
The conference will also look beyond the sea itself. One focus will be on how satellite technology can link activities across the seabed, the ocean surface and space. These technologies are becoming increasingly important as maritime and energy companies look for new ways to operate more efficiently and securely.
Energy will feature in the closing session, “Powering the Future”. The discussion will focus on energy security and infrastructure while also looking at the shift towards cleaner energy and future fuels. An innovation awards ceremony and an MoU signing are also planned.
The event is organised by the Norwegian Business Association Singapore with the Royal Norwegian Embassy and Innovation Norway. More than 300 Norwegian companies operate in Singapore, with strong links across the maritime and energy sectors.
The conference builds on the long-standing relationship between Singapore and Norway and their shared interests in the future of ocean industries.
