Indonesia is developing the Bali International Oval in North Bali as a flagship venue for international cricket and high-performance training. The two-oval complex is being built in Desa Sanggalangit in Buleleng and covers roughly five hectares.
Ground work is already under way. Both oval footprints have been marked out, while the centre-wicket blocks are taking shape. Construction will next move into wicket maturation, surface refinement, drainage and irrigation.
The facility is intended to operate throughout the year rather than only during major tournaments. It will support elite competition and high-performance player development.
The Garuda National Cricket Academy is expected to use the complex as a training centre for Indonesia’s national teams and age-group players. The venue will also be able to host visiting international teams, academies and coaches.
Specialist facilities for teams and broadcasting are planned as part of the development. The project could also host cricket during the 2027 Bali Provincial Sports Week.
The Bali International Oval project traces its origins to Indonesia’s growing involvement in Asian cricket. The country received formal Asian Cricket Council membership in 2024.
The development is part of a wider effort to strengthen cricket infrastructure in Indonesia.Further work will focus on preparing the playing surfaces and supporting infrastructure. The grounds will be ready for use once those stages are completed.
