Malaysia will host the Asia Sub-regional Qualifier B for the 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup from October 8 to 14. Matches are scheduled at Bayuemas Oval, UKM Oval and Selangor Turf Club, with Malaysia joined by Maldives, China, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong-China and Singapore. The teams will play each other once in a single round-robin format.
The Malaysian Cricket Association is organising the tournament, while the same three venues are also being used for Asia Sub-regional Qualifier A from October 3 to 15. That competition features Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Thailand, Bhutan, Mongolia and Myanmar.
The top teams from the sub-regional competitions progress to the Asia Final. The Asia Qualifier has two places available in the Global Qualifier, although the number of teams advancing from each sub-regional group has not yet been announced.
Malaysia’s Qualifier B campaign begins on October 8 against Hong Kong-China. Saudi Arabia follows on October 9, before matches against Maldives, Singapore and China on October 11, 12 and 14 respectively. The country’s schedule includes five matches across the tournament.
Bayuemas Oval and UKM Oval have also hosted international cricket during 2026, including fixtures involving Malaysia, Nepal, Hong Kong-China, Oman and the UAE. Malaysia’s men have recorded recent victories over Saudi Arabia and Bahrain at Bayuemas Oval ahead of the October tournament.
