Singapore’s digital economy grew to S$144.1 billion in 2025, accounting for 19.3 % of the country’s GDP, according to the Singapore Digital Economy Report 2026 released by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) on October 5. The share rose from 18.8 % in 2024.
The digital economy grew 5.6 % during the year, compared with 3.1 % growth in Singapore’s nominal GDP. Digitalisation outside the information and communications sector remained the larger contributor, generating S$97 billion in value added. The information and communications sector contributed S$47.1 billion.
Enterprise AI adoption increased from 14.7 % in 2024 to 23.5 % in 2025. Adoption among small and medium-sized enterprises also increased, while larger companies recorded higher usage rates.
Technology employment rose 3.8 % to 222,200 workers in 2025. Demand was particularly strong for professionals working in artificial intelligence, data and cybersecurity. Non-technology sectors accounted for 59 per cent of the country’s technology professionals.
The report also found that AI use among workers increased. About 86 per cent of workers reported using AI at work in 2026, compared with 78 % in 2025.
AI adoption was also associated with reported business gains. Among enterprises using AI, 87.6 per cent cited productivity or process improvements. About 44 % reported cost reductions and resource savings.
