Gastech 2026 will take place in Bangkok from September 14 to 17. Thailand’s Ministry of Energy is hosting the event as Asia’s demand for energy continues to grow.
More than 50,000 energy professionals are expected to attend. The event will also feature more than 1,000 exhibitors and 1,000 speakers from 150 countries.
Asia is already driving much of the growth in global energy consumption. Gastech’s own event materials project a 45% rise in Asian energy demand between 2023 and 2050. Southeast Asia is expected to see particularly strong growth.
Natural gas and LNG will be major subjects at the event. Gastech will also examine hydrogen and low-carbon technologies. Electrification and artificial intelligence will feature in the programme as well.
The focus comes as countries across Asia expand their energy infrastructure. Growing economies need more electricity to support industry and urban development.
AI is creating another source of demand. The rapid expansion of data centres is increasing the amount of electricity required by digital infrastructure.
Gastech will also look at energy security. Geopolitical tensions have made supply reliability a bigger concern for governments and companies.
The event will include more than 200 conference sessions across 17 programmes. Discussions will cover investment in new infrastructure and the technologies needed to meet future demand.
Bangkok was chosen as the host city because of Thailand’s position in Southeast Asia. The country is also expanding its LNG infrastructure and wider energy network.
Gastech 2026 comes as Asia takes on a larger role in global energy markets. The discussions in Bangkok will focus on how the region can meet rising demand while keeping energy supplies secure.
