India to Begin Exporting Electric Vehicles to 100 Countries, Says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India is preparing to export electric vehicles to as many as 100 countries, marking a major step forward in the nation’s clean mobility drive. The announcement was made during his speech at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum. He stated that a significant program related to this development will take place on August 26, but no details of the project were provided. PM Modi termed it a significant milestone for India’s vehicle industry and a sign of the country’s expanding presence in global markets.

Along with this, the Prime Minister announced that India will launch its first domestically built semiconductor chip before the end of the year. He emphasised that India had missed the opportunity to enter semiconductor production decades ago, but had now reversed that course. Chip manufacturing facilities are being established around the country, and the first Made-in-India chip will be available in the market soon.

Furthermore, PM highlighted India’s rising participation in space exploration, stating that the country had completed over 60 space missions in the last 11 years.
