India’s Engineering Exports Cross $10 Billion in July, Surge 13.81% Year-on-Year

India’s engineering goods exports increased by 13.81% in July 2025, marking a historic milestone as shipments exceeded $10 billion for the first time this fiscal year. According to data issued by the Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPC), exports totalled $10.43 billion in July, up from $9.16 billion in the same month last year.

The expansion occurred at a time when global trade continues to face challenges like rising US tariffs, policy uncertainty, and regional economic divergence. Shipments to key destinations increased significantly, with exports to the US climbing 19% to $1.81 billion.

Exports to Germany increased by 37.8%, reaching $457.6 million, while exports to the United Kingdom increased by 46.5%, to $402.5 million. Japan also experienced strong demand, with a 55.2% increase, while Brazil saw a 26.4% increase. Exports to China increased 35.8%, totalling $263.9 million.

Between April and July FY26, engineering exports increased by 6.1% year-on-year to $39.34 billion. Pankaj Chadha, Chairman of EEPC, emphasised the importance of diversifying markets and goods to withstand global problems, citing government backing as crucial to sustaining momentum.
