ISSF Junior World Cup: Anushka Thokur Wins Second Gold with Commanding 50m Rifle 3P Performance

Anushka Thokur made another outstanding performance by winning her second gold medal in the ISSF Junior World Cup 2025 in New Delhi. She won the women’s 50-metre rifle three-position final at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range by 6.1 points over Anastasiia Sorokina. The 18-year-old, who trains at the Gun For Glory Academy in Chennai, kept her cool by leading from the start of the 45-shot final, finishing with a score of 461.0. Previously, she dominated the qualification with 584.

This win, combined with her prone rifle gold on the first day, solidified her status as one of the championship’s top athletes. Anushka, who had already achieved international exposure in Suhl, Germany, and won the Asian junior title in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, continued to demonstrate her rising status in world shooting.

In the men’s three-position final, Dmitrii Pimenov won gold as an individual neutral athlete, defeating India’s Adriyan Karmakar by 5.1 points. Adriyan, the son of Olympic finalist Joydeep Karmakar, stayed close until the final stages but fell behind as Pimenov finished with high-scoring shots of 10.7 and 10.8.
