According to the latest mid-year Safety Index published by international data platform Numbeo, the United Arab Emirates is the safest country in the world in 2025. With a Safety Index score of 85.2 and a Crime Index of 14.8, the UAE ranks first among 147 countries in terms of public safety and low criminal activity. This global recognition highlights the nation’s effective governance, strong law enforcement, and commitment to security.
The UAE’s success extends to the city level, with five of its emirates ranked among the top six safest cities globally. Abu Dhabi leads with an 88.8 Safety Index, followed by Ajman (85.5), Dubai (83.9), Ras Al Khaimah (83.8), and Sharjah (83.7). These cities have among the world’s lowest crime rates, setting the standard for urban safety.
The nation’s performance is the result of decades of strategic investment in public infrastructure, digital surveillance technologies, and effective law enforcement. Despite welcoming over 200 nationalities, the UAE maintains social harmony and community trust.
Other Gulf countries also did well. Qatar was ranked third globally, Oman sixth, Saudi Arabia 14th, and Kuwait 38th.
