Odisha received investment proposals worth ₹8,417 crore on the second day of its investor outreach in the United Arab Emirates. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led meetings with UAE leaders, investors and industry representatives in Dubai.
The day began with talks with Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Cabinet Member and Minister of Economy and Tourism. He is also chairman of the Council of International Investments.
The state secured five memorandums of understanding worth ₹5,600 crore. The largest was K Raheja Corp Real Estate’s proposed ₹4,000 crore investment in IT and electronics system design and manufacturing. The project is expected to create around 10,000 jobs.
Eight more investment intents worth ₹2,817 crore were announced. Hidayath Group proposed ₹100 crore, while Khiara Group proposed ₹70 crore. Both proposals are focused on steel and downstream manufacturing.
World People Solutions, also known as Transworld, signed an MoU to explore opportunities in skilling. Together, the day’s proposals could create 14,310 jobs.
Majhi also visited Emirates Global Aluminium to study its aluminium manufacturing operations. He later joined an industry roundtable with the Bureau of Middle East Recycling on resource efficiency and the circular economy.
He also met Sharaf Group president and CEO Shyam Kapur and members of the Indian Business Professional Council in Dubai. The meetings included discussions on attracting further investment into Odisha.
