PM Modi Chairs AI and Deeptech Startup Roundtable at Seva Teerth in New Delhi

Narendra Modi chaired a high-level roundtable with CEOs of leading AI and deeptech startups at Seva Teerth in New Delhi, spotlighting India’s accelerating push to become a global AI powerhouse. The Prime Minister explored how artificial intelligence can transform key sectors such as agriculture, environmental protection, healthcare, space, and higher education in mother tongues, ensuring inclusive and population-scale impact.

Emphasising responsible innovation, he called for strong data governance frameworks and cautioned against misinformation, while encouraging the development of AI solutions tailored specifically to India’s unique socio-economic needs. Citing Unified Payments Interface as a model of simple, scalable digital innovation, he urged startups to build trusted domestic products and expressed confidence in India’s technological capabilities. He also underlined the importance of expanding private participation in the space sector amid rising investor interest.

Founders from 16 startups across healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, space, and social empowerment showcased their innovations. Participants praised India’s sustained efforts to strengthen its AI ecosystem and highlighted the country’s growing global influence, particularly through platforms such as the India AI Impact Summit, which they described as emblematic of India’s expanding leadership in global AI discourse.
