Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, 23 February 2026, hailed the milestone of empowering 30 lakh households across the country with rooftop solar power, calling it a major step forward in India’s clean energy transition. He described the achievement as a commendable moment in the nation’s journey towards sustainability and energy independence.
The Prime Minister congratulated all beneficiaries who have adopted rooftop solar systems, noting that the initiative is not only reducing electricity bills but also strengthening environmental responsibility and promoting self-reliance among citizens. He emphasised that the growing adoption of solar energy at the household level reflects increasing public participation in India’s green movement.
Responding to a post by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, PM Modi wrote on Social Media Platform X, “A commendable milestone in India’s clean energy journey! Compliments to all those who have benefited from this scheme and embraced rooftop solar power, thereby boosting savings, sustainability, and self-reliance.”
