Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit and Expo (BRESE) 2026 on November 2 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, bringing together international policymakers, investors and industry leaders to advance cooperation in renewable energy.
Organised by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the four-day summit will run until November 5 under the theme ‘Invest. Innovate. Inspire.’ Participants from more than 130 countries, including over 40 ministers, are expected to attend.
Nine countries and regional groupings, including Australia, Denmark, the European Union, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom, will participate as country partners. Thirteen Indian states and Union Territories will showcase their renewable energy potential, manufacturing capabilities and investment opportunities.
The summit will take place alongside the ninth session of the International Solar Alliance Assembly and the fourth International Conference on Green Hydrogen. The three events will focus on clean energy investment, technological development and international partnerships.
India currently has 308 gigawatts of installed non-fossil fuel capacity and aims to reach 500 GW by 2030. According to the ministry, achieving this target will require approximately $220 billion in investment between 2027 and 2030, alongside expanded energy storage, transmission infrastructure and domestic manufacturing.
The accompanying exhibition will feature more than 400 exhibitors presenting technologies across solar and wind power, green hydrogen, energy storage and emerging clean energy solutions.
The summit is expected to facilitate business partnerships, investment agreements and cooperation between governments and industry as India expands its renewable energy sector.
