TERI’s 25th WSDS to focus on sustainable transformations

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) will open the silver jubilee edition of its flagship event, the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS), on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Taj Palace in New Delhi.

Held under the theme “Transformations: Vision, Voices, and Values for Sustainable Development,” the three-day summit marks 25 years of the Global South’s leading platform for climate dialogue and action. The inaugural address will be delivered by Bharrat Jagdeo, alongside Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav.

The summit comes at a crucial time following the first Global Stocktake under the Paris Agreement, which underscored the need to reduce global emissions by 43 per cent by 2030.

A key highlight is the HIM-CONNECT Expo, an initiative of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, scheduled for February 26-27. The expo will showcase 24 innovations from premier institutions such as IITs and CSIR laboratories, focusing on solutions for the fragile Indian Himalayan Region. Technologies on display include landslide prediction systems, solar heating, climate-resilient housing, and waste upcycling.

To mark the milestone, TERI will release a commemorative pocketbook chronicling 25 editions of WSDS. The summit will conclude on February 27 with a valedictory session titled “Reflections, Resurgence, and Resolve,” aimed at translating dialogue into decisive climate action.
