UAE minister Reem Al Hashimy hails PM Modi as “true treasure” for Emirates ahead of visit

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the United Arab Emirates, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy described the Indian leader as a “true treasure” for the people and leadership of the Emirates. The remarks reflected the growing warmth in relations between India and the UAE, which have expanded significantly in areas such as trade, energy, investment, technology and defence cooperation.

PM Modi’s visit on May 15 is expected to include talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on deepening strategic cooperation. Reports suggest that energy security and long-term crude oil and LNG agreements are likely to feature prominently during the discussions, especially amid ongoing global supply uncertainties.

India and the UAE have steadily strengthened bilateral ties over the past decade through initiatives such as the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Trade between the two countries has grown rapidly, while collaboration in digital technology, infrastructure and clean energy has also expanded. Modi’s upcoming visit is being seen as another major step toward enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations.
