Dehradun, 4 November 2025: UPES hosted a special Exhibition on ‘Research, Innovation and Incubation’ at its Bidholi campus in Dehradun on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, as part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Uttarakhand State Formation. The exhibition formed a key chapter of the state’s ‘Vikas Yatra of Uchch Shiksha – 25 Years of Knowledge, Innovation, and Excellence’ initiative and brought together state, central and private universities, technical institutes and startup incubators to showcase the state’s journey of excellence in higher education, entrepreneurship and research-led development.
Across the day, visitors experienced student- and faculty-led innovations, live demonstrations of AR/VR applications, AI-driven projects and sustainability research, as well as presentations of successful startups and incubation models supported by state and central initiatives. The program also featured the launch of the ‘Uttarakhand Higher Education Vision 2050’ framework, setting out an ambitious agenda for the next quarter-century of growth.
Serving as a curtain-raiser to the main silver jubilee celebration on 9 November 2025 — set to be graced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun — the exhibition highlighted Uttarakhand’s collective commitment to an innovation-driven future.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr Sunil Rai, President, UPES, said: “It was a privilege for UPES to host Uttarakhand’s flagship exhibition on research, innovation and incubation during this milestone year. Over the past 25 years, the State’s universities and incubators have nurtured a vibrant pipeline of ideas—spanning digital technologies, sustainability and applied engineering—that translate into solutions for society and industry. This exhibition recognised that collective endeavour and, with the launch of the ‘Uttarakhand Higher Education Vision 2050’, set a bold direction for the next quarter-century. We were delighted to welcome partners, policymakers and young innovators to UPES and to strengthen Uttarakhand’s knowledge economy together.”
