With over 34 years of success, the institution has aided thousands of students in identifying their potential and achieving their objectives. The ceaseless efforts of Prof. Purandare has earned him a place in the World Book of Records for teaching 16 subjects over 30 years and dedicating 1,10,000 hours (recorded till August 2021) to the noble profession.
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
An achiever since the beginning, Prof. Mahesh Purandare secured the first rank in Advanced Costing while completing B.com at the Pune University. He also stood first in Advanced Statistics course in M.Com., and third in Diploma in Taxation Laws. Despite a stellar academic record, Prof. Mahesh Purandare preferred teaching to any other profession. In 1986, he started Mahesh Purandare Classes with just two students. Prof. Pundare’s depth of experience and extensive knowledge led him to truly recognise the hurdles faced by students in pursuing further education and the difficulties they face while seeking employment opportunities. Therefore, he combined pedagogy with empathy to nurture students academically, and has been helping them reach great heights since then. Inspiring, motivating, setting a vision, and valuing everyone around him have been the key drivers of Prof. Purandare’s phenomenal growth so far.
UNBRIDLED PASSION FOR TEACHING
Prof. Mahesh Purandare has been teaching for more than 30 years, almost non-stop. He teaches 14 hours a day and seven days a week, a testimony to his passion for teaching. His areas of expertise include Accounts, Costing, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Company Law, Income Tax, and Management, to name a few. His wife CMA Prof. Archana Purandare has an equal share in making the institute reach the pinnacle of success.
His pupils hold senior positions in prestigious companies in India and overseas. They remember his unique teaching style, which included explaining numerical concepts through current affairs and a sense of humour that made learning fun for them. The institute also takes underprivileged students under its wing and gives them the access to quality education free of cost.
To meet the pandemic-led challenges in education delivery, Prof. Purandare launched an app-based online teaching platform, Mahesh Purandare Lessons to share knowledge.
AWARDS AND ACCOLADES
Mahesh Purandare Classes have been bestowed with several national honors and accolades. They have truly revolutionised the teaching standards in Maharashtra, especially Pune. The institute received a certificate of achievement under the National Educational Excellence Awards. Asia’s Education Excellence Awards recognised the institute as Pune’s Most Trusted Coaching Institute.
The Pride of Indian Educational Awards accorded it the title of the Best Coaching Institute in Pune. The Global Business Awards bestowed the title of Maharashtra’s Best CA and CS Institute upon Mahesh Purandare Classes. On several occasions, it has been honoured as Maharashtra’s Best Commerce Coaching Institute. Reaching global recognition, it also got the International Talent Award for Best Higher Education Classes in India (Maharashtra).
Mahesh Purandare has also been recognised as the Best Professor in Mathematics in Maharashtra. Recently he has also been honoured by Sakal and received ‘Excellence in Education Award’ from Padma Shri Prataprao Pawar.
