Dr. Mahalakshmi is the Founder and Director of ARC International Fertility & Research Center Chennai. The reproductive medicine specialist with over two decades of expertise has treated over 1,00,000 infertile couples with success rates comparable to international standards.

After finishing her education and earning her MBBS, Dr. Mahalakshmi pursued a Diploma in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute. She then completed a DNB in Ob/ Gyn at Apollo Hospitals, and a fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Andrology and Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at the Chettinad Hospital and Research Institute.
Dr. Mahalakshmi established ARC International Fertility & Research Center in 2004 to treat infertile couples and promote accessible healthcare for people from all socioeconomic backgrounds.

With clear scientific protocols, adapting to world-class technology and infrastructure, dedicated team of in-house reproductive medicine consultants and state-of-the-art facilities, what started as a single branch in Chennai has expanded to 32 branches in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Malaysia. The vision of Dr. Mahalakshmi is to create awareness among the population and remove the myths about fertility issues and guide the patient with care and compassion combined with transparency and ethics.
To date, she has treated around 1 lakh patients, achieved an overwhelming success rate of around 85 percent, and delivered more than 50,000 babies successfully. Today, ARC International Fertility & Research Center is seen as centre of excellence that offers hope to realise the dream of parenthood to couples around the world.

Dr. Mahalakshmi finds mention in the Guinness Book of World Records and Asia Book of Records. She has received the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award for Clinical Excellence. The leader has been honoured by heads of state for her untiring efforts in making fertility treatment reach maximum number of deserving couples not only in India, but also around the world. Under her leadership, ARC International Fertility & Research Center was recognised with the Best Fertility Centre Award in 2013 and 2014. She is also a member of the Indian Medical Association, Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, and the Indian Fertility Society.
