India and Singapore identified green economy, semiconductors, fintech and green shipping as new areas for deeper cooperation.
The priorities emerged during the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), where ministers reviewed progress under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The discussions covered six existing pillars, advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalisation, healthcare and medicine, skills development and sustainability.
Both sides also discussed industrial parks, food security, digital connectivity and green hydrogen supply chains as emerging cooperation areas.
Several initiatives have already delivered results, including increased UPI-PayNow Connect transactions and expanded Indian fruit exports to Singapore.
India and Singapore also signed agreements covering food safety, maritime heritage and telecom regulation. The maritime agreement includes cooperation involving India’s National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal, Gujarat.
New initiatives include a semiconductor Green Lane, a National Centre of Excellence for Skilling in Chennai and a Singapore Business Federation office in Bengaluru.
The fourth Singapore-India Hackathon is also scheduled for November 15–17, 2026, in Singapore.
The partnership was elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024, with a roadmap adopted during Prime Minister Lawrence Wong’s India visit in 2025.
