ASEAN Semiconductor Market Set to Reach $62.87 Billion by 2035

The ASEAN semiconductor market is projected to grow from an estimated $35.17 billion in 2025 to $62.87 billion by 2035, according to a study by SNS Insider. The market is forecast to expand at a compound annual growth rate of 5.98% between 2026 and 2035.

The growth is being driven by expanding electronics manufacturing across Southeast Asia. Rising demand for computing and communication technologies is also encouraging investment in semiconductor production and related infrastructure.

Governments across the region are introducing policies aimed at attracting foreign investment and developing local semiconductor capabilities. ASEAN’s position within Asian manufacturing networks has also increased its importance in global chip supply chains.

Indonesia accounted for about 24% of the ASEAN semiconductor market in 2025, according to the SNS Insider report. Its position is linked to its manufacturing base and growing investment in technology, while Vietnam is projected to be the fastest-growing market in the region during the forecast period.

The report identifies demand from communication and networking applications as an important part of the market. Growth in connected devices and digital infrastructure is expected to support semiconductor demand across Southeast Asia.

Memory products also represent a significant part of the regional market. Demand from data centres and the automotive sector is supporting continued investment in semiconductor technologies.

The expansion of semiconductor manufacturing is creating pressure to develop a larger skilled workforce. SNS Insider identifies talent shortages as one of the challenges that could affect the region’s ability to sustain its growth as investment in the sector increases.
