Assam’s Abhinab Gautam Wins Silver and Bronze at Asian Armwrestling Cup 2025

Abhinab Gautam, Assam’s rising armwrestling talent, made an excellent performance at the Asian Armwrestling Cup 2025 in Ajman, UAE, which took place from December 6 to 10. Gautam, who is a student at the College of Veterinary Science in Khanapara, Guwahati, made a name for himself on a global scale by winning two medals.

He competed in the challenging 75-80 kg weight group, where each match required strength, precision, and composure. He won silver in the Left-Hand division following a series of tough matches against experienced opponents. His performance in the Right-Hand category was similarly impressive, winning him a bronze medal and establishing his consistency across all formats.

Powerful armwrestling nations, including Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, the UAE, India, Kuwait, Mongolia, Jordan, Palestine, Iran, Japan, Singapore, Syria, and Yemen, competed in the event. Each competitor exhibited a high level of competitiveness, making the tournament one of the most demanding in recent years.

Despite the stressful situation, Gautam displayed good technique and unwavering determination. His achievement has brought pride not only to Assam but to the entire country.
