PM Modi, Italy’s Deputy PM Tajani Review Progress on 2025–2029 Strategic Action Plan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, in New Delhi. The leaders reviewed the progress of Italy-India’s Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-2029, which is developing collaboration in a variety of areas. Tajani is on a three-day visit to India, and his schedule includes a number of high-level engagements that highlight Italy’s intention to strengthen its relationship with India. His delegation also includes corporate people, indicating a greater economic interest from Rome.

PM Modi shared details of the meeting on X and expressed appreciation for both countries’ efforts to speed progress under the long-term strategy. He highlighted developments in trade, investment, defence, research, innovation, space, connectivity, education, and counter-terrorism. PM Modi stated that the India-Italy friendship continues to strengthen and benefit not only the two countries but also the global community.

During his visit, Tajani spoke with National Security Adviser Ajit Doval and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Both parties discussed collaboration in politics, maritime issues, mobility, technology, and space. They also discussed global developments, such as the situation in West Asia and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
