Dubai Unveils AED 18.3 Billion Plan to Build 800 Parks, 60 Schools, and 15,000 Jobs

The Executive Council of Dubai has approved an AED 18.3 billion development strategy to improve the city’s green infrastructure, education, and employment sectors. The Public Parks and Greenery Strategy comprises more than 800 projects, including 310 new parks and 120 open spaces. Green areas would increase to 187 square kilometres, increasing the number of trees and aiming for 95 million annual park visits by 2040. The proposal aims to make parks accessible to 80% of residents within a five-minute walk, and watering will be done entirely with recycled water.

The Council also approved Aviation Talent 33, a program that would create over 15,000 jobs and 4,000 training opportunities in collaboration with 30 aviation companies. It aims to increase Emirati participation in leadership and operational roles at Dubai’s airports.

In education, 60 new schools are planned by 2033, adding 120,000 student seats. The initiative provides incentives to attract private investors and boost Dubai into the world’s top ten cities for educational quality.

Other approvals include a new court to speed up financial restructuring, a Sports Sector Strategic Plan to support local athletes, and a healthcare expansion initiative to improve early disease identification, vaccine coverage, and patient satisfaction.
