Kashyap Bakle and Snehal Kauthankar, two Goan batters created record scoring highest ever runs in partnership in Ranjit Trophy. The duo scored their triple centuries adding 606 runs to beat Arunachal Pradesh by an inning and 551 runs.
Goa scored at total of 727 runs with the help of Bakle’s 300 run off just 269 balls and Kauthankar’s 314 off 215 balls. The incredible batters created history for the third wicket partnership for the highest number of runs in the tournament’s ninety-year history. The team Goa declared their first innings. Now, this unbroken 606-run partnership between the batters is the second highest stand in the first class cricket history. The highest run partnership was created by the 624 runs partnership between Sri Lanka’s legendary cricketers Kumara Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene against South Africa in 2006 Test match.
In the Rajit Trophy, the previously stood highest record was between Swapnil Gugale and Ankit Bawne who batted for Maharashtra against Delhi during the season of 2016-17 and scored 594. In the Ranjit Trophy’s recorded history, this is only the second time when a triple-century partnership has been scored in the same innings.
