Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane got the Golden Shoe trophy in Munich on Tuesday for scoring the most goals in a European football league last season. Kane had 36 goals in the Bundesliga, more than any other player in Europe.
Despite becoming the Premier League’s leading scorer three times, this is Kane’s first Golden Shoe. “It’s a fantastic feeling,” he remarked. “This award is for everyone. Without you, I would not be standing here today. I’m feeling fine and looking forward to the new season.
Kane has received numerous personal honours throughout his career, but he has yet to win a team trophy. Last season, Kane went trophyless in his debut season with Bayern, the club’s first without a prize since 2012.
He underlined his desire for team success, saying, “It is critical to win championships. We want to be successful as a team.” Robert Lewandowski, a former striker for Bayern Munich, set a single-season record of 36 goals in 32 appearances, which Kane has surpassed by just five. However, Kane prioritises team achievement over personal records.
This season’s Champions League final will take place in Munich, and Kane stated, “We have to be there,” emphasising Bayern’s ambition for the coming season.
