Piyush Goyal held discussions with Dutch officials to strengthen economic and trade relations between India and the Netherlands, with both sides focusing on investment, skilled workforce mobility, and deeper strategic cooperation. The talks were held with Dutch Minister Sjoerd Sjoerdsma as the two countries explored ways to further expand bilateral trade and business partnerships.
The Netherlands remains one of India’s key trading partners in Europe and serves as an important gateway for Indian exports to the European Union. Officials also discussed the possibility of convening the Joint Trade and Investment Committee to accelerate collaboration in sectors such as technology, logistics, renewable energy, semiconductors, and sustainable development.
The meeting comes amid India’s broader efforts to strengthen trade engagement with European nations and advance negotiations on trade agreements with the European Union. Analysts believe stronger India-Netherlands ties could help boost investment flows and supply chain partnerships between the two economies.
Both countries have also continued cooperation in areas including water management, agriculture, innovation, and clean energy, reflecting the growing depth of bilateral relations.
