India’s Anuhith Gosala clinches gold at Global Esports Games

India delivered a stellar performance at the Global Esports Games Mumbai World Finals 2026, clinching a gold and a bronze medal in front of an electrifying home crowd. Rising esports star Anuhith Gosala secured the gold medal in Clash Royale after defeating Miras of Kazakhstan in a thrilling 3-2 final.

India’s journey to the title was hard-fought, as the team overcame the United States 2-1 in the lower bracket finals to earn a rematch against Kazakhstan, who had earlier beaten them 2-0. In a dramatic finale, Gosala showcased exceptional composure and skill to turn the tide and secure victory.

In DOTA 2, Team India added to the medal tally by winning bronze after a loss to Mongolia in the lower bracket finals, while Türkiye went on to defeat Mongolia 3-1 to claim gold.

Expressing his emotions, Gosala described the win as “surreal,” highlighting the pride of triumphing on home soil. Paul J. Foster praised Mumbai’s energy and hospitality, noting that esports continues to unite global communities. The event, inaugurated by Devendra Fadnavis, hosted 48 athletes from 19 nations and concluded with the baton passed to Los Angeles for the next edition.
