President Droupadi Murmu invited Moldovan companies to expand trade and investment ties with India while addressing the India–Moldova Business Forum in Chișinău alongside Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
Highlighting the strong bilateral relationship since 1992, President Murmu said India and Moldova share a partnership built on mutual respect, democratic values, and a commitment to peace, development and international cooperation.
The President said India, as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies, offers significant opportunities for Moldovan businesses through its investor-friendly environment, digital transformation and manufacturing capabilities. She noted that Moldova’s strategic location, skilled workforce and growing integration with European markets make it an attractive destination for Indian companies.
President Murmu identified several key sectors for collaboration, including digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, digital public infrastructure, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and healthcare. She also said Indian companies are keen to participate in Moldova’s renewable energy projects, including solar power, battery storage, smart grids and green hydrogen.
Encouraging Indian businesses to explore opportunities in Moldova, the President said stronger commercial engagement would help build lasting economic partnerships and unlock new avenues for growth, expressing confidence that the Business Forum would pave the way for fresh collaborations and elevate economic cooperation between the two countries.
The forum brought together business leaders from India and Moldova representing agriculture, information technology, healthcare, logistics, renewable energy, education, and the digital technologies sector.
