Caris Life Sciences has launched Caris Detect, an AI-powered blood test designed to improve cancer detection by identifying signals early across multiple cancer types.
According to the company, Caris Detect combines ultra-deep whole-genome sequencing, whole-transcriptome sequencing, and advanced artificial intelligence to analyse molecular changes associated with cancer from a single blood sample. Unlike traditional liquid biopsy tests that primarily focus on DNA, the new platform also examines RNA and other biological markers to provide a broader molecular profile.
Caris said the technology was developed using its extensive clinico-genomic database, encompassing molecular information from millions of cancer cases and billions of molecular markers. The company believes this comprehensive approach can improve confidence in cancer detection, particularly during the earliest stages of the disease when treatment outcomes are often better.
Internal validation studies by Caris showed strong performance in detecting cancer signals across multiple tumour types, and added that ongoing clinical research and future studies will further evaluate the test’s effectiveness and expand its clinical evidence base

The launch comes as healthcare companies increasingly invest in AI-powered cancer detection technologies that offer non-invasive alternatives to traditional screening methods. Blood-based multi-cancer detection tests are expected to play a growing role in precision medicine by helping doctors identify cancers earlier and personalise treatment strategies.
Caris Detect is currently available to eligible individuals through participating physicians in the United States. The company is positioning the platform as another step towards improving cancer detection through advanced genomic analysis and artificial intelligence.
