Dhanush breaks world records as India sweeps men’s air rifle event at World Deaf Shooting Championship

Dhanush Srikanth won the men’s air rifle gold medal at the World Deaf Shooting Championship in Hannover, Germany, setting new world records in both the qualification and final rounds.

Dhanush achieved two world records in one day, first scoring 632.7 in the qualification round and then a staggering 251.7 in the final. His performance left Shourya, who won silver with a score of 249.9, behind by a large margin.

Indian shooters Shourya Saini and Mohamed Vania accomplished a clean sweep by earning silver and bronze medals, duplicating their qualification positions.

Mira Biatovszki of Hungary won the women’s air rifle event with a world record score of 247.8, defeating Indian shooters Mahit Sandhu and Natasha Joshi. Mahit won silver with a qualifying world record of 627.7. Priyesha Deshmukh, who had the second-best qualification score of 623.3, placed eighth in the final, while Natasha won bronze.

Previously, Anuya Prasad won the women’s air pistol gold, while Abhinav Deshwal and Shubham Vashist won the silver and bronze medals in the men’s air pistol events.
