Global Tech Titans Unite to Launch Stargate UAE AI Supercluster in Abu Dhabi

In a historic move, global IT titans have joined together to establish Stargate UAE, an advanced AI supercluster in Abu Dhabi. The effort, backed by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, brings together industry titans G42, OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank Group, and Cisco. The collaboration intends to build next-generation AI infrastructure at the newly established 5-gigawatt UAE-US AI Campus, demonstrating a worldwide commitment to AI advancement.

Several dignitaries attended the launch event, including H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

G42 will build a 1-gigawatt compute cluster called Stargate UAE, which will be operated by OpenAI and Oracle. NVIDIA will provide cutting-edge Grace Blackwell GB300 systems, while Cisco’s AI-ready networking and SoftBank expertise will expand the cluster’s capabilities.

This facility will provide industry with world-class infrastructure and boost innovation in critical industries such as healthcare, energy, finance, and transportation. The first phase, a 200-megawatt cluster, is projected to be operational in 2026.

The UAE-US AI Campus, which spans 10 square miles, intends to be the largest deployment of its sort outside the United States, fuelled by renewable energy sources.
