Piyush Goyal, India’s Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, has reaffirmed the country’s strong partnership with Norway, highlighting a shared commitment to deepening bilateral ties and addressing evolving global challenges. His remarks came following a series of interactions, including discussions with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.
Responding to Eide’s message, Goyal expressed appreciation for the constructive exchange and underscored India’s focus on enhancing cooperation across sectors. He noted that both countries are aligned in navigating changing geopolitical developments and advancing meaningful reforms at the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Goyal also conveyed optimism about continued collaboration, stating that he looks forward to working closely with Norway towards a successful WTO Ministerial meeting. His remarks reflect India’s broader push to engage with like-minded partners to strengthen multilateral trade frameworks and ensure a more balanced and inclusive global trading system.
Earlier, Eide described his interaction with Goyal as fruitful, signalling mutual intent to expand engagement and explore new avenues of cooperation.
