The United States Para Ice Hockey Team completed a historic clean sweep by defeating the Canada Para Ice Hockey Team 6–2 in the gold medal match at the Milan Cortina Winter Paralympics. The victory came just weeks after the United States had already triumphed over Canada in the Olympic hockey finals, marking an unprecedented dominance across all hockey formats in the same year.
Jack Wallace starred in the final with a brilliant hat trick, while Kayden Beasley, Declan Farmer, named the tournament’s MVP, and Brody Roybal also found the net. Canada’s Liam Hickey scored both goals for his side, which stayed competitive until the Americans surged ahead in the final period.
U.S. captain Josh Pauls praised the depth of talent and credited strong grassroots development for the team’s continued success. Wallace’s journey stood out, having overcome a life-changing accident in childhood to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
The win marked the United States’ fifth consecutive Paralympic title and sixth in the last seven editions, reinforcing their dominance in Para ice hockey. The final also drew a record crowd of 10,795 fans, highlighting the sport’s growing global appeal.
