India Secures Gold in 4x400m Mixed Relay at Asian Athletics Championships

India’s medal total at the Asian Athletics Championships jumped, with the country’s competitors producing spectacular performances to win many gold medals, demonstrating their exceptional talent. Individual wins by Jyothi Yarraji and Avinash Sable set the tone, followed by India’s dominance in the women’s 4x400m relay.

Jisna Mathew, Rupal Chaudhary, Kunja Rajitha, and Subha Venkatesan won gold in 3:34.18 seconds, with Vietnam (3:34.77 seconds) taking silver and Sri Lanka (3:36.67 seconds) taking bronze.

India won its tenth gold medal in the women’s 4x400m relay, and the first since 2013. Overall, India won three golds, two silvers, and a bronze on the day, bringing their total medal count to 14. Meanwhile, China led the way with 21 medals, including 12 gold.

In the men’s 4x400m relay, the Indian team of Jay Kumar, Dharmveer Choudhary, Manu Thekkinalil Saji, and Vishal TK won silver in 3:03.67 seconds, trailing only Qatar (3:03.52 seconds). Earlier, Avinash Sable won the steeplechase gold in 8:20.92 seconds, becoming the first Indian male to do it in 36 years.
