India-US partnership expanding across tech, defence and supply chains: Goyal

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the India-US partnership is witnessing rapid expansion across technology, defence manufacturing and supply chain cooperation, reflecting the strengthening strategic relationship between the two countries. Speaking on the growing economic ties, Goyal highlighted that both nations are working closely in critical and emerging sectors to build resilient and trusted global supply chains.

India and the United States have significantly deepened collaboration in areas such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, clean energy, advanced manufacturing and defence technology in recent years. The partnership has gained momentum amid global efforts to diversify supply chains and reduce overdependence on specific regions. Goyal noted that India’s large market, skilled workforce and manufacturing capabilities make it an attractive destination for global investment and technological cooperation.

The minister also underlined the importance of bilateral trade and innovation partnerships in driving future economic growth. India and the US have increasingly focused on strategic technologies and defence cooperation as part of broader geopolitical and economic engagement.

The expanding partnership aligns with India’s efforts to position itself as a global manufacturing and innovation hub while also strengthening strategic ties with key international partners. Analysts believe cooperation in technology and defence will continue to shape the next phase of India-US relations.
