Piyush Goyal, Mexico’s Economy Secretary discuss boosting India-Mexico trade and investment ties

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a series of high-level virtual meetings aimed at strengthening India’s global economic partnerships and fostering domestic innovation.

In discussions with Marcelo Ebrard, the focus was on enhancing India-Mexico economic engagement, boosting bilateral trade, and unlocking new investment opportunities. The interaction underscored the shared commitment of both nations to deepen commercial ties.

Goyal also met Patrik Jonsson of Eli Lilly and Company, where talks centred on India’s growth trajectory and the company’s expanding investments. The meeting highlighted opportunities to strengthen the “Make in India for the world” initiative.

In another key engagement, Goyal interacted with Harry Theoharis to explore avenues for deeper India-Greece cooperation across trade, tourism, maritime connectivity, and investment.

On the domestic front, he held talks with Aadit Palicha, CEO of Zepto. Discussions focused on skilling, innovation-led entrepreneurship, and integrating farmers into modern supply chains to enhance market access and value realisation.

These engagements reflect India’s continued push to strengthen global partnerships while supporting startups as key drivers of economic growth.
