PM Modi Hails ISRO’s LVM3-M6 Mission as Major Commercial Space Milestone

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation for the successful LVM3-M6 mission, which launched the United States’ BlueBird Block-2 communication satellite into Low Earth Orbit, marking another major commercial milestone in India’s space program.

ISRO confirmed the success on X, noting that the heavy-lift LVM3 rocket accurately injected the satellite into its planned orbit, confirming the dependability of India’s most powerful launch vehicle.

PM Modi hailed the achievement as a proud occasion, saying it strengthened India’s heavy-lift launch capabilities and supported the country’s growing role in the global commercial launch industry. He emphasised that launching the biggest satellite ever from Indian soil represented progress towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat and increased self-reliance.

The Prime Minister also stated that the programme, which is driven by India’s youth, is growing more advanced and impactful. He stated that LVM3’s consistent performance would benefit future missions like as Gaganyaan, enhance commercial services, and strengthen international partnerships.

The dedicated commercial mission was LVM3’s sixth operational flight, and it carried the BlueBird Block-2 satellite produced by US-based AST SpaceMobile. The spacecraft is designed to deliver space-based cellular broadband connectivity directly to standard mobile phones.
