Indian shooters continued their strong run in local and international competitions, with gold medal performances by Kiran Ankush Jadhav, Tilottama Sen, and Samrat Rana increasing India’s medal count in 2025. At the 68th National Shooting Championship in Bhopal, Indian Navy shooter Kiran Ankush Jadhav executed a composed display to win gold in the men’s 10m air rifle event, reinforcing his status as a consistent performer on the national circuit. Tilottama Sen added to the celebration by winning the women’s 50m rifle three positions title, demonstrating control and precision in a tightly contested final.
India’s momentum continued in the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol 2025 in Cairo, where young shooter Samrat Rana emerged as the standout. The 20-year-old won individual gold in the men’s 10m air pistol event before clinching team gold with Varun Tomar and Sharvan Kumar. Rana’s victory was particularly remarkable because he defeated world number one Hu Kai of China in the final, resulting in one of the season’s biggest upsets.
The ISSF later recognised his achievement as one of the best five shooting moments of 2025. With these results, India’s medal count in Cairo now stands at nine, including three gold and three silver medals.
