The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), through the National Innovation Agency (NIA), is expanding international opportunities for Thai startups by inviting four promising ClimateTech and GreenTech companies to attend the Web Summit Qatar 2025 in Doha.
This event will provide an invaluable opportunity for these startups to present their cutting-edge environmental solutions to investors, industry experts, and global partners.
The environmental technology sector is predicted to increase at a 25% annual pace over the next decade, making it an important driver of economic development. Dr. Krithpaka Boonfueng, Executive Director of the NIA, emphasised that global sustainability trends are growing, and technology-driven solutions are becoming more popular.
Thai startups are creating competitive solutions for energy management, carbon emissions tracking, and AI-enhanced industrial automation.
However, despite their innovative potential, Thai startups often struggle with scaling internationally due to limited experience in structured business management. The NIA is bridging this gap by providing finance, information sharing, and critical support through projects such as the Unicorn Factory Thailand project.
The project’s goal is to create high-growth firms and prepare them to become unicorns, with a particular emphasis on nurturing GreenTech businesses.
