President Murmu welcomes South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at Rashtrapati Bhavan

President Droupadi Murmu formally welcomed South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at Rashtrapati Bhavan, marking an important step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

The ceremonial reception included a guard of honour and highlighted the growing partnership between India and South Korea across economic, technological, and cultural domains. The visit is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, defence, innovation, and clean energy.

President Murmu emphasised India’s commitment to deepening ties with South Korea, describing the relationship as a “special strategic partnership.” Discussions are also expected to cover regional security, Indo-Pacific cooperation, and collaboration in global forums.

President Lee Jae Myung’s visit comes at a time when both countries are seeking to expand economic engagement and diversify supply chains. Meetings with senior Indian officials, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are likely to further outline the roadmap for future cooperation.
