Piyush Goyal Launches BHAVYA Portal to Fast-Track Development of 100 Industrial Parks

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal launched the BHAVYA Portal to accelerate the development of 100 industrial parks countrywide. The initiative is to create integrated industrial ecosystems with multimodal connectivity, reliable utility systems, digital governance mechanisms and sustainable infrastructure.

Addressing the gathering in New Delhi, Goyal said the portal would serve as a transformation tool to strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem by creating investment-ready industrial infrastructure. He added that the digital platform would improve transparency, efficiency and ease states’ participation in the programme.

The minister said industrial parks developed under the BHAVYA initiative would be designed according to regional requirements and industrial suitability. While smaller industrial cluster will be created in hilly and northeastern regions, larger industrial zones are expected to come up near major urban centres.

Goyal highlighted the government’s focus on plug-and-play infrastructure, faster clearances, logistics efficiency and work support systems under the initiative; dedicated spaces would also be developed for startups, deep-tech ventures and innovation-driven enterprises.

Speaking on the occasion, DPIIT Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia said sturdy digital systems are essential for effective programme management. He noted that the portal would function as a single digital interface for project submission, evaluation, monitoring and reporting.

Approved by the Union Cabinet with an outlay of ₹33,660 crore, the BHAVYA programme aims to develop 100 world-class, investment-ready industrial parks across India over six years
