Amaravati’s Smart City blueprint is being developed using key insights from Singapore’s advanced urban planning strategies. The Andhra Pradesh government is aggressively studying internationally successful ideas for transforming the city into a sustainable, technologically advanced capital. As part of this project, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Dr. P. Narayana, along with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, are currently on an official study tour of Singapore.
Recently, Dr. Narayana and APCRDA Commissioner K. Kannababu paid a visit to Punggol Point Cove Township. The project, known as Singapore’s first eco-township, exemplifies the effective integration of green mobility, climate-conscious housing, and innovative water management technology. The team investigated these systems for potential implementation in Amaravati’s urban development plan.
Dr. Narayana emphasised that numerous aspects of the Punggol project would have a substantial impact on Amaravati’s progress. He claimed that the goal is to create a capital city that blends advanced infrastructure with long-term environmental sustainability.
Later, the delegation went to the Dell Technologies office, where they discussed smart city technologies, digital infrastructure, and the possibility of transforming Amaravati into a Blue-Green City, which combines environmentally friendly construction, digitisation, and water-sensitive urban planning.
