Presently, HRC Group consists of 20 independent companies, and several associated undertakings through which it has a substantial investment in various sectors. MAKING WAVES IN MULTIPLE SECTORS
Its has diversified businesses across Bangladesh. Tea Plantation is one of its core businesses. Its tea estate properties in Clevedon and Dildarpur produce almost 800,000 kilograms of tea.
HRC Group also has container vessels with a total capacity of 4985 TEUs. The Group owns numerous commercial and industrial properties in Dhaka, Chittagong, and Khulna. Additionally, HRC Lighting Limited, another arm of the Group, is a renowned manufacturer of CFL, LED and GLS bulbs in Bangladesh. The Group also has a distribution arm that is engaged in the warehouse, sales, marketing, and retail distribution of HRC’s wide-ranging products. HRC Group also publishes Bengali-language daily— JaiJaiDin, and Weekly Protichitra (Meaning Blue Print).
LEVERAGING GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS
HRC has an extensive presence in South Asia. Being a globally renowned exporter of Bangladesh Black Tea, HRC exports black tea to Russia, Poland, UAE, Uzbekistan, PRC, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakstan, Cyprus, and Sudan.
The group is now embracing joint venture projects with global companies and has already entered into a strategic partnership with a number of European companies. In 2018, it entered into a partnership with a Japan-based MNC to establish a JV company for operating shipping and logistics-related businesses.
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
HRC Group carries out CSR projects regularly through HRC Welfare Foundation. Its philanthropic activities have grabbed significant attention across Bangladesh. To help raise awareness, build trust, and encourage social change, HRC Welfare Foundation regularly rolls out medical campaigns, education campaigns, and cleanliness drives. The Foundation also offers free medical treatment and distributes free medicine to the economically weaker sections.
NOTEWORTHY ACHIEVEMENTS
HRC has so far been honored with 11 National Export Trophies— (nine Gold Trophies and two silver trophies) for its remarkable achievements. Moreover, the Government of Bangladesh has granted its yearly CIPd (Commercially Important Person) status to HRC 12 times for its achievements in tea export. Among many awards, the group has received the Industry Business Award in 2003, and The Financial Mirror Business Award in the year 2004.
