Sania Mirza Joins Thousands for Yoga Day in Abu Dhabi

Sania Mirza, a former Indian tennis star, joined thousands of participants in Abu Dhabi as the United Arab Emirates celebrated International Yoga Day with large-scale events throughout the country. The primary event in the capital was hosted at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), which was organised by the Indian Embassy in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Beginning at 10 a.m., the session drew yoga practitioners of different ages, backgrounds, and levels of expertise. Sania Mirza’s presence fuelled the enthusiasm, emphasising the day’s message of wellness and community.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, as well as Indian Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir, attended the session in Abu Dhabi. Participants followed the provided instructions and completed the Common Yoga Protocol in a relaxed, coordinated setting.

The event was organised under the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” which highlighted yoga’s holistic benefits to both physical and mental health. Similar sessions were held around Dubai and Sharjah.

The festival emphasised the UAE’s growing interest in yoga as a tool for harmony and self-care, highlighting its importance in the country’s cultural and wellness programs.
