Actor and fitness icon Milind Soman has completed a remarkable open-water swim across the Strait of Gibraltar, covering nearly 15 kilometers from Europe to Africa at the age of 60. The achievement has drawn widespread admiration due to the extreme physical and mental demands associated with one of the world’s most challenging sea crossings.
The Strait of Gibraltar, which separates Spain and Morocco, is known for powerful currents, rapidly changing weather conditions, and heavy marine traffic. Experts describe the route as one of the toughest endurance swims globally. Soman shared details of the feat on social media, inspiring fans and fitness enthusiasts across India.
Over the years, Soman has built a reputation for extreme endurance challenges, including ultramarathons, long-distance cycling, and sea swims. Earlier, he completed a 20-kilometre ocean swim in Goa and participated in ultra-endurance events between Mumbai and Goa.
