PV Sindhu-Led India Obtains Five Quota Places In Badminton For The Paris 2024 Olympics

India is gearing up to present a strong badminton team of seven players at the 2024 Paris Olympics, having secured an excellent five quotas, including three singles and two doubles slots.

PV Sindhu, a former world champion who earned her spot by placing 12th in the Race to Paris Ranking List, is leading the charge. HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen, two potential young players, will join her in the singles division. In the doubles category, India has two strong pairs: Chirag Shetty/Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponappa/Tanisha Crasto, who have proved their abilities on numerous occasions. Chirag and Satwik significantly rose to the top of the world rankings after winning gold in the Asian Games.

The Paris rankings list determined the quota allocation, with India successfully receiving its allotment.

However, the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) must confirm the use of these quotas, and they have until May 24 to do so. With this momentous feat, India is on track to match its contingent size from the Rio 2016 Olympics, raising hopes of repeating the success stories of stalwarts like Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu on the large Olympic stage.
