PM Modi inaugurates state-of-the-art indoor cricket academies across six Northeastern states

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated a network of state-of-the-art indoor cricket academies across six Northeastern states, marking a significant step towards strengthening sports infrastructure in the region. The initiative aims to nurture young talent and provide world-class training facilities to aspiring cricketers in areas that have traditionally faced infrastructural challenges.

The academies are equipped with modern training technologies, including advanced pitch systems, fitness centers, and coaching support, designed to meet international standards. The move aligns with the government’s broader vision of promoting sports development and identifying grassroots talent across India.

During the inauguration, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the Northeast as a hub of sporting excellence and reiterated the government’s commitment to investing in youth development. He noted that improved infrastructure would open new opportunities for young athletes, enabling them to compete at national and global levels.

The initiative is also expected to contribute to regional development by generating employment opportunities and fostering a culture of sportsmanship. With enhanced access to professional training environments, aspiring cricketers from the Northeast can now pursue their ambitions without having to migrate to other parts of the country.
