India’s para-sports contingent delivered another impressive performance on the international stage as para-archer Sarita clinched a gold medal at the Para-Archery Asia Cup, while Adil Mohammed secured a bronze medal to add to the country’s tally. The achievements highlight India’s growing strength in para-archery and reinforce the nation’s status as a rising force in adaptive sports.
Adding to the celebrations, Paralympic champion Sumit Antil claimed gold on the final day of the 8th Indian Open Para Athletics Championship in Bengaluru. Antil emerged victorious in the Men’s Javelin Throw F64 category with a best throw of 74.82 metres, once again demonstrating the consistency that has made him one of India’s most decorated para-athletes.
The championship witnessed participation from athletes across the country and served as an important platform for talent identification and preparation ahead of major international events. Antil’s victory, along with the success of Sarita and Adil Mohammed, reflects the growing depth of India’s para-sports ecosystem. Their performances are expected to inspire aspiring athletes and further strengthen India’s ambitions in upcoming continental and global competitions.
