Andhra Pradesh, Malaysian Delegation Hold Talks to Boost Trade and Investment

The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation on Monday hosted a Malaysian delegation for discussions aimed at expanding bilateral trade, investment and commercial cooperation across multiple sectors. The Malaysian Consul General Saravana Kumar Kumaravasagam led the delegation to South India.

During the meeting, representatives explored opportunities for collaboration in manufacturing, logistics, food processing, electronics, renewable energy, tourism and other high-growth sectors. Andhra Pradesh Chambers president Potluri Bhaskara Rao said the state has emerged as a preferred investment destination, attracting nearly USD 23 billion in investment over the past 18 months.

Rao invited Malaysian companies to explore opportunities in palm oil processing, electronics, logistics and value-added manufacturing sectors. Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem and transportation infrastructure position it as a strategic entry point for Malaysian businesses seeking access to the Indian market.

The discussions also covered cooperation in processed foods, spices, rice, marine products, aquaculture, semiconductors, electric vehicles, machinery, renewable energy, healthcare, digital infrastructure and tourism. Malaysia is regarded as a key entry point to ASEAN markets, while Andhra Pradesh is considered a hub for manufacturing and export collaborations.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to facilitate buyer-seller meets, business delegations, B2B engagements and institutional collaborations to strengthen their trade and investment in a structured manner.
